DHL tests smart parcel mailbox from MYPO

DHL eCommerce is currently testing a smart parcel mailbox, which enables delivery and pick-up while the recipient is not at home. DHL is constantly looking for new opportunities to make it easier for consumers and more efficient for shippers and to reduce the burden on the environment and the environment. With the pilot, DHL is gaining experience with this new delivery option. The parcel mailbox is called MYPO, an invention of starting entrepreneur Arjan Griffioen, who won the innovation prize of the Rotterdam Mobility Lab.

I CAN NOW RECEIVE PARCELS WITHOUT HAVING TO BE AT HOME, EVEN DURING MY HOLIDAY.
 Sven Kouwenhoven, tester MYPO

Until the end of May, 25 households in the Rotterdam district of Kralingen have a MYPO at the front door. Sven Kouwenhoven is one of them: "I participate as a tester, because I am interested in the latest technology and mypo thinks a cool new concept. I order a lot online, mainly electronics. Previously, I had to go home quickly after work to take packages. With MYPO, this is no longer necessary. I can now receive packages without having to be at home, even during my holiday."

The MYPO can be easily attached to the front door without tools. With a unique numeric code, only the recipient and the delivery person can open the MYPO. The last four digits of the track & trace code set via a mobile app form the key with which the MYPO opens. The DHL delivery person can also take (return) shipments that have been placed in the parcel mailbox by the consumer.
