Busiest day ever recorded for DHL

DHL is experiencing the busiest day in its history in the Netherlands today. The volume in the national network today exceeded the busiest December days of last year with 900,000 packages.

At the 15 sorting centres and 140 CityHubs, 12,000 people are currently working on the processing and delivery of all these orders. It is expected that 90% of shipments will be delivered within 24 hours and the rest within 48 hours. Normally, the percentage that is delivered within 24 hours is more than 98.5%.

As the capacity limits of the two-party parcel delivery market, which is 92% served by two parties, is approaching, DHL is going to bring forward investments in capacity expansion.
