FC Utrecht and DHL extend cooperation

DHL eCommerce and Utrecht FC go into the neighborhoods together.

The partnership between FC Utrecht and DHL has been extended by two years. DHL remains Logistics Partner of the Utrecht FC and will also go into the neighborhoods together with the Utrecht Eredivisionist. The extension of the cooperation was sealed last Sunday, around the Eredivisie match FC Utrecht – Willem II.

In the coming years, FC Utrecht and DHL will make the cooperation more sustainable and expand it towards the neighborhoods in the Utrecht region. Fc Utrecht is active there with the project 'FC Utrecht in de Wijk'. This initiative is all about inspiring and moving youth in specific neighbourhoods in the Utrecht region. Neighborhood sports coaches are active under the flag of FC Utrecht to contribute to the physical, social and mental development of children from the neighborhood.

As part of the extended cooperation, DHL employees will also play a major role in this. Together with FC Utrecht, they will inform and inspire the children in a playful way. To make the visits unforgettable, DHL delivers a playful surprise in the heart of the district.

"As a parcel carrier, DHL is always on the go. But we are much more than a logistics party," says Stéphanie Ganzeboom, Manager CSR / DHL Cares. "At DHL, we take responsibility for employees, society and the environment. Important pillars in our strategy are GoGreen, GoTeach and GoHelp. Based on these pillars, we support charities and social initiatives in the Benelux with our DHL Cares foundation. Employees are therefore regularly committed to society. For example, during the fundraiser 'FC Utrecht collects in!' earlier this year. A large group of enthusiastic DHL volunteers was present."

Michel Clausing, Chief Commercial Officer of DHL eCommerce, adds: "It is therefore a logical step to further expand our cooperation with the club. In addition to extending our logistics partnership, we are also joining forces and becoming a partner of 'FC Utrecht in de Wijk'."

The extension and intensification of the partnership with DHL is cause for joy and pride, according to Partnership Director Joost Broerse of FC Utrecht. "DHL has been a committed partner of the club for years, makes connections in the Business Club and there are many FC Utrecht supporters working at DHL who are also in the stands with us," broerse said. "All the ingredients are present to work together visibly in various neighborhoods over the next two years and to contribute to more vital youth in the Utrecht region."
